2. Expedition Itinerary

Day 1-2: Preparation & Highland Entry

• Arrival: Kamuzu Airport (LLW) → Transfer to Latitude 13 (Lilongwe).
• Scenic Drive: 4hrs to Luwawa Forest Lodge (2,000m altitude).
• Gear Check: Guide briefing + route mapping.
• Meals: Dinner (Day 1); Full board (Day 2).

Day 3-5: The Wilderness Trek

Camp 1 (18km/6hrs):

• Hike via Kamwe Fire Tower (360° highland views).
• Ridge walk to plateau camp (sunset over misty valleys).

Camp 2 (18km/6hrs):

• Summit Kawandama Peak (2,000m) – Malawi’s "Sky Island".
• Camp on escarpment edge (bonfire under stars).

Camp 3 (22km/6hrs):

• Forest descent past Lifupa Village (cultural exchange).
• Riverside camp with waterfall swims.

Day 6-7: Lake Arrival & Celebration

• Final Descent: 16km to Lake Malawi.
• Recovery: 2 nights at Kachere Kastle (beachfront luxury).

Day 8: Return to Civilization

• Morning: Lake swim → Transfer to Lilongwe.
