Our adventure tour package price includes sharing a twin room. If you need a single-bed accommodation only, you should contact a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the start of the tour.

** During the climb, you will share a tent with 1-2 other climbers, depending on the number of participants.

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN TANZANIA

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, our team will warmly welcome you and escort you to your hotel in Moshi town. Here, you will meet your knowledgeable guide, who will provide a detailed briefing on your upcoming trek. Together, you will conduct an equipment check to ensure you have all the necessary gear for the mountain expedition. In case any items are missing, you can conveniently rent them on the same day.

DAY 2: UMBWE GATE (1,800M/5,905FT) TO CAVE BIVOUAC CAMP (2,850M/9,350FT)

Embark on your Kilimanjaro adventure as you depart from Moshi at 8 am for Umbwe Gate. Here, you'll rendezvous with our dedicated team of porters, guides, and cooks, who will accompany you on the exhilarating six-day journey to Uhuru Peak, the summit of Africa. 

Upon arrival, we'll assist with registering your climb while our experienced porters and guides make final preparations. Your first day's destination is Cave Bivouac Camp, nestled approximately 6 hours away from the gate.

The trail is characterized by its steepness and occasional slipperiness, winding through the moss-covered trees of Kilimanjaro's lush cloud forest. As you ascend, the forest gradually gives way to reveal panoramic vistas of heathers, tall grasses, and vibrant wildflowers.

While you trek, our dedicated porters and cooks will forge ahead to ensure the camp is ready for your arrival, allowing you to unwind and relish in the natural beauty surrounding you.

DAY 3: CAVE BIVOUAC (2,850 m/9,350 ft) TO BARRANCO CAMP (3,950 m/12,960 ft)

Ascending to Barranco:

Embark on a picturesque journey from Cave Bivouac to Barranco Camp, nestled amidst the towering peaks of Kilimanjaro. As you venture forth, the trail continues along the ridge, guiding you through diverse terrain.

Exiting the forested paths, you'll traverse open moorlands, soaking in the expansive vistas that unfold before you. After a rewarding trek, you'll arrive at Barranco Camp, renowned for its breathtaking scenery. Surrounded by majestic senecios and lobelias, this campsite offers an awe-inspiring setting.

Due to its valley location, Barranco Camp experiences a delayed sunrise compared to other camps, allowing for a tranquil start to the day amidst nature's splendor.

DAY 4: BARRANCO CAMP (3,900 M/12,800 FT)

At Barranco Camp, take advantage of an extra day dedicated to acclimatization. This additional day allows for a smoother adjustment to the altitude, reducing the physical strain and enhancing your overall acclimatization process.

DAY 5: BARRANCO CAMP TO KARANGA VALLEY

Awaken to a new day at Barranco Camp and savor a hearty breakfast before commencing our journey towards Karanga Valley. Our adventure begins with a thrilling 1.5-hour ascent, navigating the rugged terrain of the iconic Barranco Wall. This section demands your focus and determination, as you may find yourself utilizing hands to aid your climb in certain sections. Upon conquering this exhilarating challenge, the landscape unfolds into relatively level terrain, offering a respite before descending into the lush greenery of Karanga River Valley.

Elevation Gain: 250 meters, 820 feet

Distance: 7 Kilometers

Hiking Time: 3 to 5 hours

DAY 6: TREK TO BARAFU CAMP (4,600 m/15,100 ft)

Begin your journey to Barafu Camp after a hearty breakfast. As you ascend towards Barafu, take in the breathtaking vistas of Kibo's glaciers and the convergence point of the Mweka and Machame trails. Traverse past the awe-inspiring Heim, Kersten, and Decken Glaciers, adding to the grandeur of your trek.

While the trail to Barafu meanders through an alpine desert with sparse vegetation, the camp itself provides unparalleled panoramas of the towering Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. Following dinner, try to rest as much as possible, for you will embark on your summit hike before midnight.

DAY 7: SUMMIT DAY: BARAFU CAMP TO UHURU PEAK TO MWEKA CAMP

Embark on the ultimate ascent to Uhuru Peak under the cloak of midnight. Guided by the illumination of your headlamp, navigate the challenging terrain for the next six hours. The climb to the crater rim at Stella Point is the pinnacle of endurance, marked by a steep and demanding trail. However, the subsequent journey from Stella Point to Uhuru Peak entails a gradual ascent, offering a relatively smoother path despite the imposing altitude, which adds to the arduousness of the trek. Capture timeless moments with your guide and fellow trekkers upon reaching the summit.

As you begin your descent from Uhuru, revel in the captivating vistas of the mountain, crater, clouds, and glaciers. Upon returning to Barafu Camp, replenish your energy with breakfast and a brief respite. Your trek is far from over, with an additional three to five hours of hiking to reach Mweka Camp.

Elevation Gain: 1,295 meters, 4,240 feet

Elevation Loss: 2,795 meters, 9,170 feet

Estimated Hiking Time: 6 hours to the rim, 1 hour to Uhuru, 3 to 4 hours back to Barafu, 4 hours to Mweka

DAY 8: DESCENT FROM MWEKA CAMP TO MWEKA GATE

Commence the day with a hearty breakfast before embarking on the final leg of your journey. Navigate through the verdant forest trails leading to Mweka Gate. Be cautious of slippery paths, particularly after rainfall. At the lower station of Mweka Gate, our vehicles will be waiting for your arrival to transport you back to Moshi.

DAY 9: DEPARTURE FROM TANZANIA

Today offers a relaxed opportunity to unwind after your trek before catching your flight home. Depending on your flight schedule, you may opt to explore Moshi town, indulge in some souvenir shopping, or simply savor the local ambiance one last time before heading to the airport

Safari, Zanzibar, and other add-ons are available if you wish to extend your exploration of Tanzania.
