Overview:

Bwindi National Park is the biggest national park inhabiting the mountain

Gorillas in all three countries that inhabit the only left Mountain Gorillas in

the world. The park covers an area of 321 sq km it’s one of the oldest

National parks in the world. There are around 800 mountain Gorillas

inhabiting the national park, along with primates, birds, trees, antelopes and

many more. Gorilla trekking takes 30 minutes to three-quarters of the day,

depending on the location of the mountain Gorillas, where they last feed and

nest. Please note that these are wild animals that keep on moving.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Pickup from Kampala and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Our guide will pick you up from your hotel/guest house for a short briefing

about the entire 3-day trip and the en-route stops you will be making on your

way to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Drive to the southwest part of Uganda. Along the way, stop at the equator for photography and stretching.

Visit the souvenir shops, where you can buy something to remember your tour. Head to Mbarara town as you drive through the grasslands. See long-horned cattle grazing along the roadside. Proceed to Bwindi and enjoy the beautiful scenery of rolling hills and banana plantations. Arrive at your lodge, check-in, relax, and have dinner.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early morning breakfast, meet your guide again, and drive to the park headquarters to meet other travelers for a briefing at 7:30 am about the dos and don’ts when you meet the Gorillas in the forest. Meet the game ranger and start off the hike that takes 30 minutes to three-quarters of the day, depending on where the Mountains Gorillas are. As you trek, see different tree species, spot a number of birds, and have a chance to see primates such as black and white colobus monkeys, mammals and many more. There are muddy steep slopes, so you are advised to use a walking stick, and a minimum level of fitness is required to have your trek be a success. Once you meet our close relatives, you will be given one hour to be in meters with the Gorillas for photo shots as you listen to informative talk from the wardens and rangers. Have lunch in the jungle, then return to the lodge to celebrate the Gorilla experience, and you will be awarded with a Gorilla certificate. Return to the lodge, relax, and in the evening, visit the Batwa Community as they expose their culture. The Batwa are the first people who lived in Bwindi Forest, and you will be entertained with their amazing dances, poems, and many more.

Day 3: Departure back to Kampala

After morning breakfast, bid farewell to the lodge, with great memories of the giant mountain Gorillas. Start off the journey through the amazing rolling hills, terraces, and vegetation “Switzerland of Uganda”.
